Cara Sarmiento has been a member of Westside since 1990 after she received God’s free gift of eternal life and began walking with Jesus guided by The Holy Spirit. She has served as a lay person teaching the Bible from middle school to young married couples, singing in the choir, and caring for newborns in the nursery.

She has been working as coordinator for international ministry since summer of 2018; and in the Fall of 2020, she became director of International ministry and missions. Her work background is as an Occupational Therapist rehabilitating the senior adult population for 25 years.

She and her husband, Julio, have been graciously married since 1993 and are blessed with three children. In her free time, she likes to walk her dog, read, swim, bicycle, and host friends and family in their home (especially enjoying ethnic food and Cuban coffee)!
